Wireless Access Security Robot (W.A.S.R)

The Ultimate goal of an autonomous robotic system is, of course, to perform some useful function in place of its human counterpart. One of the more common applications currently being pursued is security application. Security monitoring is importance for both commercial and domestic market, current systems are limited by their mobility and controllability. With the recent improvements in the video capturing, transmitting and remove control access capability through the internet, security industry will have to look to alternatives which can provide some benefits and extra features to the consumer.

Two of the biggest problems facing the security industry are quality and maintenance cost. The demands of today’s consumers have led to several innovations in the security industries. One of the earliest perceived applications for an autonomous mobile robot was acting as an intelligent sentry or security guard. A mobile security robot could be the alternate solution for this industry, which is applicable to both commercial and domestic market.
