Civil Defense Robotic Vehicle

In certain situations, human is required to perform certain manipulative tasks in hazardous or impossible for human work in. One solution is to deploy a remote controlled tracked vehicle into the advantage of enabling human to be fully involved in the dangerous tasks while still remaining safety, comfort and decision making on the remote site. The project is an investigation into the requirements of Civil Defense deployment and the development of an optimum surveillance system. This project will be mainly based on the exiting system Jointly developed with Robotic Research Center of Nanyang Technology University for the police. In addition, the vehicle also provides a platform on scene analysis and object recognition; path planning and obstacle avoidance can be tested and integrated.
